DVD Component.
The ES series comes with a DVD component terminal that allows for the input of component signals from DVD players, producing far superior results that the composite signals and S-Video signals.

One-Touch Focusing with Digital Quick Focus : Unwanted vibration from the physical environment can throw the three CRT‘s off-focus - resulting in color misalignment and smearing on screen. Digital Quick Focus is designed to offer the convenience of a one-touch realignment of the CRT‘s. Instead of straining your eyes during manual alignment, the one-touch digital process brings the system back into perfect alignment in less than 20 seconds. 

INTELLIGENT VOLUME : A technology that eliminates those annoying variations in sound level whenever you change the channels. Once activated, the different variations in sound level would be stabilized to your television volume.

3D Digital Comb Filter (NTSC) 
A conventional Comb Filter compares horizontal scanning lines within a video frame and makes adjustments that purify the image, thereby making clear what would otherwise appear blurry. The 3D Digital Comb Filter takes this idea two steps further by acting upon not only consecutive lines within the frame, but in the frame before and after as well. The added analysis and correction result in far sharper pictures with less noise, as well as an enhanced purity of colour.

Vertical Compression Technology.
Enjoy 16:9 software from any digital DVD/LD sources with high density picture quality. This technology compresses the image from 4:3 mode to 16:9 mode by focusing the scanning lines within the image area. Vertical compression is available only for DRC 1250 with NTSC. 
Enhanced Tri-Component Screens : By enhancing the light gathering (Fresnel) and diffusing (Lenticular) elements, screen brightness is improved by 20%. The new screen delivers an even brighter image and a more pleasurable viewing experience across a 150 degrees viewing angle.
Further more the scratch-resistant High- Contrast Screen provides both physical protection as well as enhancing the overall color richness. And to reduce eye fatigue, an Anti-reflective (AR) coating reduces ambient light reflection. 

Super Pro Optic System : Sony‘s very own super Pro Optic System is an innovative system for rear projection TV‘s, adopting one of the most superior CRT and optical Technologies available in the industry, giving excellent picture quality. Reality never looked better.

First Surface Mirror : Sony‘s first surface mirror enables the beam to reflect off only the front surface. As a result, resolution, brightness and contrast are improved and picture ghosting is virtually eliminated.

New super Bright Screen : The new super Bright Screen delivers an even brighter image and higher contrast image. By enhancing the light gathering (Fersnel) and diffusing (Lenticular) elements, screens brightness is improved by a staggering 20%.
